No good dead goes unpunished.

Tim Horton’s is one of my favourite places to eat.  I spend more money there in a week then I do any other place.  It is not a large amount of money, but the daily $1.57 for coffee and the occasional $4.44 for my coffee and breakfast sandwich adds up.  A couple weeks ago Tim Horton’s fired a lady for giving a baby $0.17 worth of fried dough.  This week they screwed up again.

A lady in downtown Toronto bought a pregnant homeless woman some breakfast and got scolded by the employees that homeless people are not allowed to eat in their restaurant.  Now, if I’m not mistaken homeless people have the same rights and freedoms as everyone else, and as the food was paid for, and was from Tim Horton’s they had no real right to kick someone out, especially if no disruptions were made.  As the article points out, the homeless lady just sat there and ate quietly.

It’s sad when someone tries to do something nice, and some prideful self entitled person comes down with prejudice, malice and hate.  Tim Horton’s, your image is getting tarnished fast.  Your stock holders will not be happy if this kind of PR nightmare’s continue.  Maybe you should learn to share a little more of your wealth around with people who don’t have much and be a little nicer in the morning.

Broken Hearts and Wilted Flowers

Today is my anniversary.  I have now been married 4 years and have no regrets about that decision whatsoever.  I am more in love with my wife today then I have ever been before.  I do have one regret thought and it was to trust a flower shop to deliver some flowers on May 22nd before 3pm Atlantic Standard Time.  I placed an order for this delivery yesterday, on May 21st at approximately 3pm AST.  This gave the store a good 24 hours to put together a few flowers and arrange a driver to go all the way out to the bustling town of Cornwall before my wife went to work.  This whole thing was to be a surprise for my wife, as we agreed not to get anything for each other this year due to an upcoming trip we are planning.

So this afternoon my wife Jennifer gets a call from the shop stating that they would not be able to make the delivery time due to “heavy traffic” and that the only option would be to have it delivered to another location or have them delivered tomorrow.  Well, by luck I happened to have my car today and was about to take my wife to work when I found this out.  I picked up the flowers myself, got the refund for the delivery and brought them to the house myself, experiencing NO delays, and NO heavy traffic on my way out.

We’re now in a day and age where life is costing more and more by the minute, and choosing where to spend your extra money (what little we have of it) is now becoming more important to me.  The store I placed the order with was called Hearts and Flowers ( www.heartsandflower.ca) and is located in downtown Charlottetown.  I was extremely disapointed with their service, their inability to deliver on what they promised and a tad upset that they blamed traffic on their poor planning.  I gave them a full day to deliver a small bouquet of flowers to my wife, on our anniversary and for a store that makes flowers, and offers a delivery service were not able to complete this simple objective.

They did give me my refund on the delivery and a grand total of $3 more back, but the surprise was ruined, I delivered them myself, and in the end no one was hurt.  But I will not be spending my money there in the future.  Too bad good service is as hard to find, as much as extra money is.

Been a long time since I posted something. Just been way way way too busy the last month to be able to even put something up. Anyway, was browsing youtube today and stumbled across this. Just watch and laugh.
