Back in the beginning of November I wrote this whine/rant about finding a job that fits me. Well I did find it, as some of you may know by now I am a game tester. For almost three months now I’ve worked for Sculpin QA as a game tester. I’ve gotten a lot of weird looks of disbelief when I tell people what I do. Most think I test games from my home over the internets, but nope I do work in an office. Actually we’re located down at the ATC, which is a great facility in the heart of Charlottetown.
Three months into this job and I’m still learning new stuff pretty much everyday and I’m forcing myself to expand into areas of thought that have been dormant for a long time. I really do think I’ve found my dream job for me in this point of my life. I still have plenty of other goals and dreams, but while that time comes, I’m enjoying testing games, laughing all day at work and oh the free snack cupboard doesn’t hurt either
.
In the future I plan on posting more game related articles on my blog here. I keep very close tabs on the game industry in all aspects from design philosophies, to release dates, to reviews, and everything in between. I’m going to try and shoot for an article a week on some aspect of the industry that I find interesting, and hey maybe even this week I’ll post another youtube clip.
If anyone actually does read this blog, I’ll take questions about job if you’re curious (yes we are hiring). Just shoot me an email at filsinger@gmail.com.
